Match Report: Fire fall at home, 4-3, to Philadelphia Union

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (July 11, 2018) – The Chicago Fire (6-9-5, 23 pts.) rallied from a trio of one-goal deficits against the Philadelphia Union (7-9-3, 24 pts.), but ultimately fell by a 4-3 scoreline Wednesday night at Toyota Park.

Philadelphia’s Haris Medunjanin tallied the first goal of the evening by curling his left-footed shot around Richard Sánchez in the 31st minute.

The Fire equalized in the 39th minute after Aleksandar Katai -- whose transfer to the club was made official earlier in the day -- was taken down in the box. Fire forward Nemanja Nikoliu0107 powered his ensuing penalty kick past Union goalkeeper Andre Blake for his ninth goal of the 2018 campaign.
