BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (June 2, 2018) – The Chicago Fire (5-7-2, 17 pts.) defeated the San Jose Earthquakes (2-8-3, 9 pts.) 2-1 on Saturday evening at Toyota Park.
The Fire opened scoring in the 29th minute when Johan Kappelhof collected the ball and fed it out wide to Luis Solignac on the right flank. In his first start since returning from a left quad injury, Solignac whipped in a right-footed cross to Alan Gordon at the top of the six-yard box, who rose up and snapped his header down and inside the post for his third goal in as many games.
