From Halas: Bears provide update on Zach Miller, NFL suspends Jerrell Freeman for PEDs

LAKE FOREST — Bears tight end Zach Miller underwent urgent vascular surgery to repair a torn popliteal artery Sunday night in New Orleans. The surgery was successful.

Coach John Fox said the doctors took a vein from his other leg to repair the torn artery.

“Right now, the report is they’re obviously gonna take a while for it to make sure it remains good, but he’s got good pulse in his lower leg, as well as has good feeling, his foot is warm, which is a good sign.” Fox said Monday. “Not that he’s out of the woods by any stretch but it’s as good as could be expected at this point.
