Francis Ngannou wins UFC heavyweight title with devastating knockout of Stipe Miocic

Francis Ngannou knocked out Stipe Miocic in the second round to become the new UFC heavyweight champion in Saturday night's main event at UFC 260 in Las Vegas.

Ngannou had Miocic in trouble early in the second round, dropping the champion with a two-punch combination. Ngannou swarmed Miocic before catching Miocic on the chin with a short left hand.

The knockout came at 52 seconds of the round.

Ngannou (16-3) won his fifth straight fight by knockout or TKO.

Miocic (20-4) entered Saturday as a betting underdog, just as he was in his past two fights against Daniel Cormier and in his first fight with Ngannou back in January 2018, which he won by unanimous decision.
