BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – While he was understandably excited about scoring his first goal as a professional soccer player, Jonathan Campbell lamented the Chicago Fire’s inability to close out games on Saturday following a fourth tie in seven games against D.C. United.
Campbell put the Fire (1-2-4, 7 points) ahead with a deft flick from Arturo Alvarez’s inviting center in the 41st minute, but a header from former Chicago player Patrick Nyarko in the 64th minute saw the visitors tie the game 1-1 to earn a point and leave the Veljko Paunovic searching for his second win in MLS.
