The Chicago Fire were among the teams to pass on making a selection in Stage 2 of the MLS Re-Entry Draft Thursday, with only the LA Galaxy (Servando Carrasco), D.C. United (Gonzalo Veron) and LAFC (Calum Mallace) claiming player rights on the day.
With a wave of intraleague offseason player movement in the rearview, Fire leadership now turn their attention to the January transfer window and the 2018 MLS Combine (Jan. 11-17) and SuperDraft (Jan. 19) as they roster-build for the season ahead and the start of preseason late next month.
Below is the list of players currently under contract with Chicago for 2018:
Goalkeepers (3): Jorge Bava (INT'L), Stefan Cleveland, Matt Lampson
Defenders (6): Jonathan Campbell, Jorge Corrales, Christian Dean, Johan Kappelhof (INT'L), Matt Polster, Brandon Vincent
Midfielders (6): David Accam (DP), Brandt Bronico, Drew Conner (HG), Daniel Johnson, Dax McCarty, Djordje Mihailovic (HG)
Forwards (3): Michael de Leeuw (INT'L), Nemanja Nikolic (DP, INT'L), Luis Solignac (INT'L)
