Edwards: How center Eric Moreland could solidify the Pistons' bench

Minutes aren't guaranteed for Eric Moreland. Neither is his paycheck.

That makes the fact that he has been tucked away in the back of head coach Stan Van Gundy's bench since the regular season commenced a bit problematic for the 6-foot-10 Detroit Pistons big man. Jon Leuer has gobbled up the majority of the backup center minutes. Anthony Tolliver and Henry Ellenson have done the same at power forward.

The 25-year-old had only seen sporadic minutes this year. That is until Friday night, when Moreland was the first one off the bench to spell Andre Drummond — largely due to an ankle sprain Leuer suffered Tuesday night in Los Angeles.
