David Accam is staying put for now after the Fire turned down an attractive offer from Germany’s Hannover 96. While terms of the potential move were apparently agreed to between Hannover 96, Accam and the Fire, the deal remained contingent upon the Fire finding a suitable replacement in a short amount of time. When it became apparent the gap between the Fire and FC Porto for Juan Quintero was too far to bridge, the Fire calmed some of Accam’s displeasure by picking up his option for the 2018 season.
