When the Chicago Fire host the Philadelphia Union at Soldier Field on Saturday (7 p.m. CT, WGN-TV and CFFC Live), it’ll be a matchup of two teams heading in very different directions.
The Fire are coming off a gut-punch of a loss to FC Cincinnati in Chicago on Wednesday night—a defeat that dropped them to dead last in Major League Soccer. While the team’s defense has been acceptable—they’re averaging one goal allowed per game over the last five—the attack has been as bad as it gets. The Fire have scored just four goals all season, and two of those came in the first 15 minutes of the season opener.
