The Chicago Fire youth movement continues, with the club today announcing the signing of Colombian forward Jhon Jáder Durán from Envigado FC. At just 17, Durán becomes the youngest international player signing in MLS history.
Durán is a 6’ 3” striker who was recently named by The Guardian as one of the 60 best youth footballers in the world. Because he’s under 18, Durán’s contract with Chicago won’t begin until January 2022, so he’ll spend the next year at Envigado. His contract is a three-year deal (2022, 2023, 2024) with club options for 2025 and 2026.
