After taking part in full team training for the first time today, new Chicago Fire signing Carlos Terán is now a centerback option for head coach Raphael Wicky. Terán, 20, has been training individually since arriving in Chicago earlier this month from his native Colombia. His quarantine period is now over, meaning he’s allowed to join the rest of his teammates.
Terán’s arrival comes at a good time for the Fire. Wicky started three of his available centerbacks in the last match against Sporting Kansas City, with Francisco Calvo and Wyatt Omsberg on the back line, and Mauricio Pineda moving forward into midfield to fill in for Gastón Giménez, who is in quarantine after playing for Paraguay on international duty.
