Chicago Fire midfielder Jeremiah Gutjahr out for four months

The Chicago Fire announced today that midfielder Jeremiah Gutjahr is recovering after successful arthroscopic surgery on his right knee to repair a medial meniscus tear.

The injury happened at training on Tuesday, and the surgery was performed by Dr. Brian Forsythe at the Rush Oak Brook Surgery Center on Wednesday.

The Fire expect Gutjahr’s recovery to take about four months.

Gutjahr, 22, was originally signed by the Fire as the 11th Homegrown Player signing in Club history on Jan. 22, 2019. In 2019, he made eight appearances (five starts), tallying one assist.

At the moment, all other Fire players are healthy.
