A special moment capped an emotional 24 hours for Chicago Fire forward and current Memphis 90 FC loanee Elliot Collier on Saturday night.
One day after learning of the loss a friend and former teammate in the terrorist attack that has so far claimed 50 lives at the Al Noor Mosque in Collier's native New Zealand, the 24-year-old scored the first goal in Memphis 901 FC history in a 1-1 draw with Loudoun United.
Wearing a black armband to honor the victims of the tragedy, Collier got the goal for the home side in the 78th minute by finishing off a slaloming run inside the Loudoun United 18.
