A couple Chicago Fire Academy alums combined to help the No. 7 Indiana men’s soccer team knock off Wisconsin in their season opener Friday afternoon. Sophomore Victor Bezerra scored a brace in the 3-0 victory, which took place indoors at Grand Park in Westfield, Ind., north of Indianapolis.
Bezerra’s first goal came in the 39th minute, off an assist from his fellow Fire Academy alum, defender Spencer Glass. He scored again four minutes later, smashing one into the upper 90 just before halftime. Eddie Rock, the Fire’s Senior Director of Football Operations, said the club is watching both guys carefully.
