This preseason has not been kind to the Chicago Fire from an injury standpoint.
Fabian Herbers and Elliot Collier are both out for the next few weeks with injuries they picked up during the 1-0 win over the Philadelphia Union, and, crucially, Stanislav Ivanov will be out until summer after a knee injury he suffered in training.
“Obviously we’re not happy about that,” Fire head coach Raphael Wicky said. “You never wish an injury to a player. Unfortunately, it’s part of the game, and it happens, and then as a coaching staff, you have to try to deal with it the best you can.
