Chicago Fire Fall 2-1 Against Minnesota United FC

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Aug. 26, 2017) – The Chicago Fire fell 2-1 against Minnesota United FC on Saturday at Toyota Park.

The Fire (12-9-6, 41 pts.) out-shot Minnesota (7-14-4, 25 points) 20-8, and held 57-percent of the possession. Chicago rallied with a goal in the 77th minute, but it was the visiting side who came away with the result thanks to a pair of counter-attacking goals in the first half.

Abu Danladi scored both goals for Minnesota. The first came in the 36th minute with service provided by Ethan Finlay. Finlay sent an initial cross toward Danladi that Fire center back Johan Kappelhof blocked, but the deflection landed back in the path of Finlay to keep the play alive.
