Chicago Fire Fall 1-0 to New England Revolution

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (July 23, 2016) – The Chicago Fire (4-10-5, 17 points) fell to Eastern Conference foe New England Revolution (6-7-8, 26 points) on Saturday night, as a late Je-Vaughn Watson goal earned all three points for the home side.

New England had a pair of chances early on to take the lead in the first half. First, midfielder Kelyn Rowe saw a long-range rip from outside the 18-yard box parried away from net by goalkeeper Sean Johnson in the 10th minute. Revolution forward Teal Bunbury also missed an opportunity 10 minutes later, when his attempt off a Chris Tierney cross was pushed over the bar.
