Chicago Fire Defender Bastian Schweinsteiger Retires from Professional Soccer

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (Oct. 8, 2019) – Chicago Fire Soccer Club defender Bastian Schweinsteiger today announced his decision to retire from professional soccer. A winner of 23 major trophies, including the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Champions League, Schweinsteiger concludes an 18-year playing career as one of the most decorated players in the history of the sport.
