To borrow a line from Chicago Fire play-by-play man Tyler Terens, Álvaro Medrán was, indeed, feeling it on a Wednesday afternoon in Bridgeview. Medrán’s goal very early in the first half would prove to be the winner, as the Fire beat USL League One side Forward Madison 2-0 in a preseason tune up.
That first goal came in the third minute, after a Luka Stojanoviu0107 corner kick bounced around the box before landing at Medrán’s feet, who beautifully put it away. The Fire would comfortably hold that 1-0 lead for the remainder of the first half.
