Chicago Fire community joins Crawford family support efforts in wake of tragic accident

On the night of Thursday, Feb. 16, the Chicago Fire community suffered a tragic loss.

Kevin Crawford, who in 2010 founded the Chicago Fire Juniors Gold youth club based in Chicago's northwest suburbs and served as club director for several years, was killed in a car accident along with his wife, Anita, and 20-year-old daughter, Kirsten. Struck by a speeding motorist in Des Plaines, the Crawfords were returning from a local recreational soccer event, and now leave behind two young members of their loving family: Hailee (15) and Christian (9).

Since news of the horrific accident, friends, neighbors, acquaintances and perfect strangers have shown tremendous support for Hailee, Christian and the Crawford family, recently surpassing $100,000 in donations through a GoFundMe page established on behalf of the Crawfords.
