Former Chicago Fire defender and ex-USMNT captain Carlos Bocanegra is the newest member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. He is the lone member of the 2020 class, and will be inducted in a joint ceremony with the 2021 class next year.
Bocanegra, who currently serves as technical director of Atlanta United, is the 305th member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. He won MLS Rookie of the Year with the Fire in 2000, and was MLS Defender of the Year in 2002 and 2003, before heading to Europe for stints with Fulham, Rennes, Saint-Etienne, Rangers, and Racing Santander.
