The Chicago Fire have acquired 19-year-old defender Carlos Terán via a transfer from Envigado FC in Colombia, the club announced today.
He’s under contract through the 2024 season, with a club option for 2025.
“Carlos is a promising young player who can play as a center back and as a right full-back,” Fire Sporting Director Georg Heitz said in a news release. “Colombia has produced many talented players and we are excited to sign one of its rising youth national team defenders. We are looking forward to working with him as we believe that he will fit in very well with our current group of players.
