GLENDALE, Ariz. — Over the course of eight months, and without a single appearance by Charlie Tilson in a baseball game in between, discussions about the center fielder have shifted from his opportunity to carve out a role for himself in a White Sox rebuild, to being happy to see him play baseball at all.
“It’s not simply him being out there playing, which is great,” White Sox general manager Rick Hahn said. “It’s the look on his face after he plays, almost a combination of excitement and quite frankly a little bit of relief because I know this is a real milestone for him.
