Chicago Fire defender Francisco Calvo made his second appearance for Costa Rica in the 2019 Concacaf Gold Cup on Saturday night, entering Los Ticos' quarterfinal defeat against Mexico as a substitution in extra time.
Calvo came on in the 99th minute for defender Bryan Oviedo with the match level at 1-1. When the score remained level after 120 minutes, Calvo was called upon to be a part of the penalty kick shootout that ensued, and put a left-footed finish past Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa. The finish levelled the shootout at four goals apiece.
