Chicago Fire affiliate Tulsa Roughnecks FC opened their season with an assertive 4-1 victory over Colorado Springs Saturday.
This is Tulsa’s first season as Chicago’s USL affiliate, and the Roughnecks are off to a hot start under new head coach David Vaudreuil.
Vaudreuil, who most recently managed New England Revolution’s reserve side, took full advantage of Fire loanees Joey Calistri and Collin Fernandez in the club’s opening match of the season. Both players earned spots in Saturday’s starting lineup, and neither disappointed with their play on the field.
Calistri played 75 minutes of the game, produced two shots on goal and assisted on the game-winning goal in the 32nd minute.
