The Chicago Fire Academy teams began their USSDA spring season on the road, taking on Vardar on Saturday, March 5 at the Evolution Sportsplex in Auburn Hills, Mich.
The Fire U-18s earned a point with a 0-0 draw against Vardar. The U-18s currently sit in fourth place in the Mid-America Division, holding the first wildcard spot with a 7-2-4 overall record.
The U-16s took a 1-0 victory over Vardar courtesy of a David Portugal goal. The U-16s sit in playoff positioning in third place in the Mid-America Division with an 8-4-1 overall record.
Roberto Alonzo and Carlos Cepeda scored for the Fire but the U-14s fell 5-2 to Vardar.
