There’s just over a month of baseball left and the Cubs authored a comeback win for the ages to complete a sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday to bring their record on the current road trip to 5-1. The stats are compelling. In the last week the Cubs have scored 63 runs against the Pirates and Marlins (46 of those were scored in the Pirates series alone).
During Saturday’s 14-2 win against Miami I made a joke that if the Cubs won by 11 they’d double their season run differential in one game — maybe they heard me, because they won by 12.
