If you don’t know who Bert Haas was — and honestly I didn’t know much before I got this photo from BCB reader Brian Peterson — he played for the Dodgers, Reds, Phillies, Giants and White Sox from 1937-51, with a couple years missed for World War II service. He did make one All-Star team (1947) and in his career batted .264/.323/.355 in 721 games.
