After ending 108-year drought last November, the Cubs weren’t stressing over a four-game losing streak and a 6-7 start. On Tuesday, they righted their own ship with a comeback win, 9-7, over the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Cubs trailed 5-0 and while mounting a late comeback, the embattled bullpen mostly held the Brewers in check. Newcomer Jon Jay put the team ahead with a run-scoring triple to cap off a four-run sixth inning. He is digging the team’s never-quit attitude.
“Guys didn’t get down,” Jay said. “Kept on fighting, kept on fighting and then the end result was what we were looking for.
