As you likely know, Cardinals catcher Willson Contreras suffered a broken forearm when he was hit by the bat of Mets DH J.D. Martinez on Tuesday. This hit came not on a backswing, but on the forward motion of Martinez’ swing, and this is likely because the Cardinals have been asking Contreras to set up much closer to the plate than he had previously.
