Dominic Moore doesn’t come out and say it exactly, but it’s evident the 37-year-old didn’t expect to be in this position — fighting for a job on the last days of training camp with the Maple Leafs.
The Leafs added only two players when what’s left of the free agent frenzy began on July 1st and Moore was one of them. He agreed to rejoin the team — eight years after he last played with them — for a one-year and $1-million contract.
Now, he might not make the roster.
“I think you never take anything for granted of course,” Moore said, when asked if he expected to be competing for a job this fall.
