One of the players that I remember most from watching the Cubs while I was growing up was Jody Davis. Apparently I had an affinity for catchers when I was young as Gary Carter was my all-time favorite player. While I played baseball for many years, I never donned the tools of ignorance and my knees thank me for that today.
Anyway, I seem to remember Davis coming through in the clutch more times than not in that magical 1984 season. But perhaps it was just the way that Harry Carey sang about Davis that was memorable. Either way, Davis seems like the perfect person to start a “where are they now” feature.
