PHOENIX – When the Cubs came up empty in pursuit of Alex Bregman, it seemed inevitable that they’d pivot. But now that they’ve agreed to terms with Justin Turner, pending a physical, their roster feels more settled.
“You start to get to a place in camp where you focus more on potentially minor league deals, where guys can get ready on a different pace,” Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer said Tuesday at Cactus League media day.
