The Cubs absolutely crushed the Pirates bullpen Tuesday night, making all kinds of loud noises with their bats. At one point, seven of nine consecutive batted balls in the 7th and 8th innings were hit in excess of 100 mph. The other two were over 96 mph, for an overall average of around 103.6 mph.
But the loudest of all was Kyle Schwarber’s lined shot that quite literally went “DONG!” when it ricocheted off the foul pole in right.
