Duane Underwood’s first appearance for the Cubs in 2019 went well, like, really well. Well enough to feel encouraged even though the Cubs were trailing by 11 runs.
Underwood struck out all six batters he faced, swinging no less. He effortlessly switched between the four-seam fastball and a wicked change up, with the former touching 97 MPH backed by an upper-80s change. He also mixed in a couple of curveballs, just for good measure.
Filthy.
