MILWAUKEE -- Just how good was Chicago Cubs closer Wade Davis over seven days, ending Thursday?
“Amazing,” one Cubs player said.
“So good, but I’m not sure he broke a sweat,” another one chimed in with a smile.
Davis is shooting for perfection, as he’s the only closer in the game who hasn’t blown a save, but this last week added another layer to his great season. Davis pitched in five of six games, throwing a combined six innings while giving up two hits and a walk to go along with 10 strikeouts.
