Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper and Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant, who grew up in Las Vegas before becoming two of baseball's biggest young stars, were given keys to the city and honored by Mayor Carolyn Goodman in a ceremony Thursday.
The Las Vegas natives are coming off award-winning seasons. Harper earned National League MVP honors and Bryant was named the Rookie of the Year in the NL.
Before Harper starred for the Nationals and Bryant helped revamp the Cubs, the two mostly played against each other as youngsters in Las Vegas. But there were a few times they shared the same dugout.
