Twins 3, Cubs 0: The offense disappears, again

This game could have been a nice little redemption story for Kyle Hendricks.

Against a good team, Hendricks threw six credible innings, allowing five hits and two runs, with five strikeouts. His only real mistake was a two-seamer up and out over the plate to Manuel Margot in the fifth inning, resulting in a solo homer.

But the Cubs lost to the Twins 3-0 because they had just six baserunners the whole game (four hits, two walks), only three of whom got past first base. This, against a pitcher who had made four previous MLB appearances (three starts) and hadn’t thrown anywhere near this well in any of them.
