True to his name, SMU's Shake Milton will be moving —and shooting

DALLAS — The plan for Shake Milton was not complicated, but it was potentially fraught: A reliable, ascendant point guard for a 30-win team effectively would be reassigned for the following season. SMU needed scoring. Another fairly experienced option to run the team was available. The retooled alignment made sense but it also demanded a conversation, to assure there would be no hard feelings. So coach Tim Jankovich called Milton into his office early in the summer and asked the junior-to-be a question to which both already knew the answer.

“If it was your call,” Jankovich said, “would you rather play all point this year or play off the ball?
