Today in Cubs history: A Cubs-Cardinals brawl

EDITOR’S NOTE: This article originally ran three years ago on the anniversary of this brawl. Today marks 50 years since this crazy scene in St. Louis.

This video, “lost” for many years (though freely available on YouTube through all that time), surfaced earlier this month when Ted Simmons was inducted into the Hall of Fame, because he was one of the principals in a wild Cubs/Cardinals brawl that happened in St. Louis on this date, Sept. 22, 1974.
