Today is the anniversary of Jake Arrieta’s no-hitter over the Dodgers in 2015, and you’re welcome to read the BCB recap of that game.
But everyone remembers that one. What I want to tell you about today is another Cubs win that you might not recall. It happened three years earlier, a wild walkoff win against the Brewers at Wrigley Field in a season the Cubs lost 101 games, just the third (and most recent) 100-loss season in franchise history.
Setting the stage: The Cubs entered this game at 49-80, 29½ games out of first place and having lost the first three of a four-game series to the Brewers at Wrigley Field.
