Through grand slams or ground outs, Kyle Schwarber still has faith in himself

My first question for Kyle Schwarber on Sunday afternoon was a tough one: “Did you sleep well last night?”

He paused, then chuckled.

“Luckily,” he said in a one-on-one conversation at his locker. “I sleep well no matter what.”

Schwarber hit his first-ever grand slam — from the ninth spot in the order no less — to give the Cubs a 5-3 win on Saturday. It was a cathartic moment for the young, struggling slugger who went from World Series folk hero to a bottom 25 hitter in six months.
