The Cubs split six games with the Padres and Diamondbacks over the last week, and though it could easily be argued that they could have won four or even five of the six, keep in mind that these are two of the best teams in the league. The Padres, after losing two of three in Houston over the weekend, still have MLB’s best record at 16-6. At 14-10, the Cubs have hung in there against very tough competition.
