You probably heard about not one, but two dominant pitching performances Thursday. Just 40 minutes after Vince Velasquez struck out 16 Nationals (more here), Jaime Garcia finished off a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts. That's an afternoon that hasn't been seen in a dozen years; the last time two pitchers posted Game Scores of at least 97 on the same day was May 18, 2004, when Jason Schmidt's one-hitter for the Giants against the Cubs was overshadowed by Randy Johnson's perfect game for the Diamondbacks against the Braves.
