The week in interesting and unusual Cubs stats

The Chicago Cubs spoiled the Seattle Mariners' first Sunday Night Baseball appearance since 2004 by rallying from a 6-0 deficit to send the game to extra innings and eventually win on Jon Lester's squeeze bunt in the 12th. Brian Matusz allowed three homers, becoming the first pitcher to do so in his first start with the Cubs since Brian McNichol got a September call-up and did so against the Cincinnati Reds in 1999.

The Cubs had not come back to win a game in which they entered the ninth inning trailing by three (or more) runs since 2008, when Geovany Soto's two-out homer tied it and Derrek Lee walked off in the 12th.
