The Sordid Travels of a Cubs Fan: San Diego

BCB's Danny Rockett takes a trip to the land of beer, beaches, bums, and baseball.

You can't spit in San Diego without hitting a brewery, taco stand or homeless person. You can't gaze upon its palm-lined streets without fixing upon a colorful mural, "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" hippie bus, or tent city. And you can't afford the zoo. ($48)

This was my first ever trip to San Diego, which, if you're playing at home, I refused to call by its actual name during the trip, preferring the German translation Will Ferrell posits in the movie "Anchorman." For the purposes of this PG-rated article, I'll call the place San Diego, but you can substitute the Will Farrell line in your head for fun.
