Sunday’s marathon of a rain-delayed, extra-inning affair at Wrigley Field was a chilly Easter affair. There are a number of things that can be discussed from that game, including the outcome (not great for the Cubs), a bit of a premature end to the first delay and the bullpen’s inability to go toe-to-toe with Arizona in the later frames. All of these are interesting elements that can and should be discussed, but the moment I keep ruminating on is a curious decision by the Diamondbacks’ Josh Naylor with two out in the in the 11th inning.
For those who didn’t make it to the 11th inning late Sunday, I’ll set the scene.
