The real Jon Lester stood up once again in complete game win

Jon Lester’s first season in Chicago was a rollercoaster. He opened 2015 with an ERA of 6.23 in April then followed it up with a mark of 1.76 in May. That number vacillated back and forth, month by month, hovering around 2 one month and 5 the next. In the end, though his numbers looked respectable, many were wondering whether Lester was worthy of his ace-like contract.

But nobody’s wondering if he’s earning his money now. Lester threw another gem on Friday, a complete game against the Wild Card-leading San Francisco Giants, allowing just one run on three hits while walking two and striking out four.
