The front office was busy the day before the holiday and acquired another reliever. The Cubs worked out a deal with the Rockies for lefty Rex Brothers. The addition of Brothers gives the Cubs 38 players on the 40-man roster.
During an interview Wednesday on MLB Network Radio, Rex Brothers told Casey Stern and Jim Bowden he was ecstatic when he found out he had been dealt to the Cubs.
