The Daily CCO: Addison Russell Really Likes Driving in Runs at Wrigley and Other Cubs News and Rumors

Addison Russell stepped in the box with the bases loaded in the eighth inning Wednesday night. The Cubs were leading 4-1 and Russell delivered the knockout blow. Russell launched the first Grand Slam of his career to the bleachers in left center. The Cubs took a seven-run lead and Aroldis Chapman shut the door with a 1-2-3 ninth inning that included two strikeouts.

Addison Russell went 1-for-4 with the biggest of big flies and drove in a career-high four runs with one swing of the bat. Russell became the youngest Cubs’ player to hit a Grand Slam since Nelson Mathews in 1962.
